Just a quick note to let folks know that one of the yummiest meals I've ever had (Gujarati Rasoi's samosa chatt) is now available at Exmouth Market on Wednesdays and Thursdays in addition to their mainstay Friday street vending. Rejoice! (I reckon they're still on at Broadway Market on Saturdays too, but I haven't been round there in quite awhile.)

New York Times Discover Hackney

This article is perhaps best filedeunder "Oh so 2 years ago" or "Yawnsville" but here ya go:

New Home for Arts Refugees
By JOSHUA DAVID STEIN
New York Times
Published: March 9, 2008

But in the past few years, a new kind of refugee has landed on Hackney’s teeming streets. Artists, designers and young bohemians in ever-skinnier jeans are getting priced out of nearby Shoreditch, and opening bars, clubs and galleries in this gritty immigrant enclave. But since Hackney is already densely and vibrantly packed, these new establishments are often hidden below, above and even within existing storefronts.

A man rolls into a bar. Sounds like the start of a dumb joke? It’s not. Wheelchair-enabled people like going out in the evening as much as anybody. What does appear to be a joke is how difficult it can be to find info about wheelchair accessible pubs et al in London. We did a bit of online snooping and were dismayed by the lack of resources out there.

WANTED: Odd Photographers

The London Metropolitan Police have launched a 2008 Counter-Terrorism advertising campaign requesting members of the public to report any suspicious behaviour in confidence to the Anti-Terrorist Hotline. All well and good and I've nothing against vigilance, but one of the ads suggests that if you see an "odd" photographer you should take action and report him/her. As an "odd" photographer, I find this a bit worrying.

We have ordered from
