His work, a mixture of parody and protest, serves to subvert the very medium to which it attaches itself. Wall paper posters adorn advertising billboards that in his own words ‘market nothingness’ while large scale posters with the simple one word message ‘obey’ stir the bewildered masses. His unique use of stencils, collage, photography and painting have led to collaborations with among others, DJ Shadow, Interpol, Smashing Pumpkins and more recently the poster art for the Johnny Cash biopic, ‘Walk the Line’.

Single Travel Fares Across London Public Transport

Mayor freezes single travel fares
The Mayor of London has announced a freeze on all single fares across the city's public transport system.
BBC News
Last Updated: Tuesday, 30 October 2007, 13:12 GMT

Critics say the freeze will make little difference because of above-inflation prices hikes over the past three years ... Travellers paying for an Oystercard peak single fare will continue to pay 90p, while the single cash fare is frozen at £2.

Londonist asks "What’s for Lunch?" Spicy Food Plus

Here's another What's for Lunch? post for Londonist. Stayed tuned for subsequent instalments on Tuesdays around noon.

What's for Lunch? Spicy Food Plus

October 30, 2007

Spicy Food Plus, a rather nondescript hole-in-the-wall about halfway between Victoria Station and Pimlico Station, is (in the words of at least one well travelled London foodie) home of “the best naan” outside of India.

Much Ado about Hot Dogs

Who knew Londonist readers would get so up in arms about a mildly approving review of a hot dog vendor? Clearly, not me. Anyway, I got an education on the palette and concerns of at least a few Londoners with my last What's for Lunch? restaurant review. Check out these comments posted in response to my review of a hot dog vendor outside the British Museum:

Boo!

These guys are a smelly menace.

Oh god no!! The hot dogs that these people sell are, I swear, made out of stray cat meat and wallpaper paste.

... the most disgusting food in London.

that is insane... is this April 1st?

Londonist Turns Three - You're Invited

I've been writing for Londonist since May. I love it. Before that, I was a real fan of the site. I still find it an invaluable London resource. Well, this invaluable resource will be celebrating its third birthday party and are throwing a "massive party" to celebrate.

The party starts this Thursday (the 25th) at 6.30pm at ...

Grafton Arms (upstairs bar and beer terrace)
72 Grafton Way
Fitzrovia W1T 5DU

As with other Londonist events, there's no need to RSVP. More details

Haut cuisine it’s not, but what’s more indulgent than a hot dog every once in awhile? And, at £2.50 for a “jumbo” hot dog, who can’t afford to indulge every now and then?
