Oktoberfeast at Belgo (Londonist)

Oktoberfeast at Belgo

All this month, kitsch Belgian restaurant Belgo is offering an Oktoberfeast menu to celebrate … erm … feasting … in … erm … October. Good ole Belgian favourites such as moules blanches (mussels cooked in brugs witbier with bacon lardons) and carbonnade flamande (braised beef cooked in faro beer, nutmeg and brown sugar) are among the substantial menu fillers available.

Yep, Covent Garden’s Night Market is on for every Thursday (4pm-10pm) and Friday (12pm-9:00pm) this month (so, ya got this week and next to check it out). Londonist made it over there on Friday, and we were actually impressed by the range of yummy goodies available for purchase.

Coffee, Cake and Kink … and Qype (Qype does London)

by Chris Osburn
Qype does London
August 7th 2008

Coffee, Cake and Kink is a mellow and friendly little cafĂ© with two levels of comfortable seating as well as some tables outside. CC&K just also happens to offer an extensive range of erotica, adult toys and hundreds of titles of books about every facet of sexuality and intimacy. Still, the only thing seedy about this place is the potential that a poppy seed muffin may be featured as a dessert. CC&K is a well lit and safe environment – very open and welcoming and nothing at all like those creepy shops all over Soho.

Londonist asks "What's for Lunch?" Kastner & Ovens

Here's another What's for Lunch? post for Londonist. Stayed tuned for subsequent instalments on Tuesdays around noon.

What’s for Lunch? Kastner & Ovens

... looking for something slightly fresher then Kastner & Ovens is a fairly decent bet. They serve up two hot dishes a day (one meat and one vegetarian) alongside an array of pastries, tarts and salads. And, of course, lots and lots of cake. K&O has lots of things to recommend it for the occasional visitor. Everything is cooked fresh, the food’s of a good quality and there’s a decent range of sweet options.
